ACE development & engineering was founded in 1977 as a broadly oriented engineering company. The name ACE was derived from the English “Associated Consulting Engineers”.
From the start, the emphasis was on intensive collaboration with clients and location-independent technical consulting (secondment and internal projects).
Due to the rapid growth, the mechanical engineering and electrical activities were split off with the head office in the heart of Dutch industry, in the Eindhoven region.
This was followed by a phase of geographical expansion. Physical proximity to the clients turned out to be of great importance for effective project implementation. Several regional offices were opened.
With the advent of fast digital communication networks, the number of branches was concentrated. The regions were enlarged and knowledge and capacity were clustered in larger offices.
Ten years after the clustering of expertise in advisory groups, the branch structure was abandoned and the focus was shifted to market and technology-oriented business units.
