Internship at ACE Lummen
Recently we were joined by trainee Willem Rutten at our office in Lummen. We asked him about his experiences.
Can you tell us a bit more about your education?
Willem: "I am a secondary education student and I study industrial sciences. I am 18 years old and in my final year at KS Diest, a secondary school in Diest."
Why are you doing this internship?
Willem: "I did this internship on behalf of my school. They want secondary school students to become acquainted with the business world and its structure. Certainly towards next year, when I have to choose a study program in the higher education, I think this is very good and might help me make my choice easier."
How did your internship go?
Willem: "For the past two weeks I have been able to walk with different people within the company and I have watched how they perform their duties and approach different projects. They have taught me a lot and taught me technical knowledge."
What did you like best?
Willem: "What I particularly liked about my internship at ACE was the variety of functions. I got to know new people both at the desk and in the assembly hall and I discovered their profession. Electrical engineers, mechanical designers, programmers and a mechanics all work together and form one team."
Thank you for your story Willem and good luck in your further study!
