I really feel at home here.
As Technical Administrator, Béa is the indispensable link between different departments within ACE. She ensures that orders are followed up correctly, deliveries and invoices are processed flawlessly, and that project data enter the systems accurately. Whether contacting suppliers, supporting project managers or consulting with colleagues in the workshop - Béa connects people, processes and information. ‘Everyone depends on each other,’ she says. ‘If one cog is not working, the whole team notices. That's why working together is so important.’
What brought you to ACE?
Béa: After a reorganisation at a previous job in the technical sector, I was looking for a new challenge in which I could use my experience. On LinkedIn, I saw a vacancy at ACE for an administrative assistant. Although the vacancy was actually already closed, I decided to get in touch anyway. Thanks to my background and feeling for technical environments, I was still allowed to send in my CV. Not much later, I could start working - and it felt right away.
What exactly does your job entail?
Béa: My responsibilities are very broad. I follow up on orders, check deliveries, process procurement invoices and ensure that administrative processes around projects run correctly. I support our project manager with reports and overviews and monitor colleagues' time registration. In addition, I am also the first point of contact for incoming phones, and jump in wherever needed - even to refilling the coffee machine. All to ensure that others can focus on their core tasks.
What appeals to you about the engineering sector?
Béa: Technology fascinates me. I find it incredible that a customer puts forward an idea, and that a fully working machine eventually emerges from it. I am not an engineer myself, but I have a lot of respect for what my colleagues design, program and build. I also always try to be with the projects: when material comes in, I often know what it's for, and what is being built. That link between the theoretical and the practical is what makes this environment so fascinating for me.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
Béa: The collaboration. I feel we are all working together towards the same goal. Everyone depends on each other - the designers, the programmers, the mechanics - and that creates a strong team spirit. That connectedness, and the variety in my tasks, make me enjoy working here every day.
How do you experience working at ACE?
Béa: It is a warm, human environment. The workload is healthy - there are deadlines, of course, but there is no oppressive atmosphere. Everyone is willing to go the extra mile when necessary. And what I like: you get opportunities to grow here. My tasks have evolved since I started, and I hope to be able to do even more in the future.
Do you have any ambitions within ACE?
Béa: Absolutely. Soon we will switch to a new ERP system, and I am already involved in the preparations. That kind of project motivates me. My role has already grown since I started, and I look forward to growing even further.
