Within ACE (Delft office), we are looking for a new Lead Engineer with a background in mechanical engineering and/or electrical engineering. In this role, you will work daily on challenging projects and collaborate closely with your team. The team will ultimately consist of approximately five ACE engineers. Within projects, this ACE team will regularly—and often intensively—work together with engineers on the client side.

Do you have the right background and the confidence to take on this challenge? Then we would be pleased to get in touch with you.

What will you do?

  • Take responsibility as Lead Engineer within challenging projects in the field of mechanical and/or electrical engineering
  • Provide technical direction within projects and ensure a smooth transition from design to realization
  • Work daily with a team of around five ACE engineers, acting as the technical point of contact
  • Collaborate intensively with client-side engineers, where alignment and technical substantiation are key
  • Make well-considered technical decisions and clearly translate them into a supported solution approach
  • Safeguard technical quality, coherence, and progress within projects
  • Actively contribute to constructive collaboration between internal and external stakeholders
  • Work from ACE Delft, within an environment where engineering, collaboration, and development are central

What do you bring?

  • A completed HBO or MSc degree, for example in Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 5 years of experience as an engineer in a complex technical environment (electromechanical, mechanical, or electrical)
  • The ability to think multidisciplinarily and interpret technical challenges holistically
  • Experience with 3D CAD systems, such as NX, and/or electrical engineering tools such as EPLAN
  • Demonstrable experience with larger mechanical constructions, including routing, piping, and P&IDs
  • Experience in analysing specifications and activities and translating them into a concrete, executable approach
  • The ability to make time estimations per project phase; this is an essential part of the role
  • The capability to make sound technical decisions in a stakeholder-rich environment and to align both technical and non-technical stakeholders with the chosen solution
  • A visible, reliable presence within projects; colleagues can depend on you and know where to find you
  • A collaborative mindset: you actively contribute ideas, enjoy sharing knowledge, and value the expertise of others
  • Willingness to work from ACE Delft (2–3 days per week) and Haarlem (2–3 days per week)

What can you expect?

  • A technically challenging and varied working environment where you can truly make an impact through diverse projects
  • An organisation that believes engineers never stop learning, with ample room for personal and professional development
  • A professional platform to apply and further develop your skills and expertise
  • The freedom to shape your own ambitions; ACE supports this with coaching and targeted training
  • An engaging and varied position within a well-regarded engineering consultancy
  • A competitive salary with an attractive package of secondary benefits
  • Training opportunities via a personal development plan and access to the GoodHabitz learning platform
  • A challenging role with flexible working hours, ensuring a healthy work–life balance
