Mechanical engineering and automation are the core activities of the Industrial Automation business unit. We provide customised services in the (re)design and implementation of machines or installations. We develop, build, integrate and install customer-specific machines and installations for advanced production processes. We also design special equipment and tools.

Our customers are both OEMs and end users. In addition to the internal development/project team, ACE also employs specialised staff, from design engineers/draftsmen to project leaders, who can be deployed on customer sites.

The starting point is the customer’s automation need. From this point of view, a concept is then devised that is discussed extensively with the customer. We have specialists in mechanical, electrical and control engineering, including vision controls and robotics.

Right from the concept phase, they work in close-knit teams to produce integrated designs. This ultimately prevents practical problems during the construction of the machine. The design teams are closely involved in the assembly and installation, which means an efficient start-up with minimum time loss.

Rockfon aims to achieve far-reaching automation of its entire production process of its T-Profiles. Automating the packaging process was not easy: complex manoeuvres that a hand can easily perform are much more difficult for a machine.
