Co-Development

ACE engineering for your projects, in two collaboration models.

ACE extends your team with ACE engineers or executes a defined project scope with technical responsibility. In both models, the engineers work with your software, your standards and your schedule.

Collaboration models

The two models can be combined within the same programme, for example team extension during development and turnkey execution of a sub-assembly.

Model 1

Engineering team extension

ACE engineers integrated into your team, under the technical coordination of your team lead.

One engineer

2 to 5 engineers

A complete team

Model 2

Turnkey project execution

ACE executes a defined scope, a project phase or the complete project, with technical responsibility for the result.

Support in one project phase

Full responsibility for the project

Typical applications

Limited internal capacity

Engineering resources are tied up in parallel projects or in product support engineering.

Missing competences

The project requires competences such as kinematics, mechatronics or automation that are not available in-house.

Multi-phase development

Start of the development of a product or a custom machine, with several phases and disciplines.

Time to market

The launch needs to be accelerated without increasing fixed overhead.

How ACE organises the collaboration

Dedicated team

ACE engineers selected for the technical requirements of your project.

Defined scope and deliverables

Milestones, interfaces and deliverables fixed in the definition phase.

Integration into your systems

Direct work in your CAD/PLM environment, without file conversion.

Design reviews

Regular progress meetings and formal reviews, such as PDR and CDR.

Infrastructure managed by ACE

Capacity planning, IT security and equipment at the ACE offices.

Single point of contact

An ACE account manager supports the collaboration from start to finish.

Five-step workflow

  1. Scope definition

Technical requirements, interfaces, responsibilities and deliverables.

  2. Engineer allocation

Engineering profiles matched to the technical demands of the project.

  3. Integration

Alignment with your CAD/CAE software, secure data exchange and working standards.

  4. Execution

Engineering, prototyping and optimisation, at the ACE offices or at your site.

  5. Verification and delivery

Design reviews, validation against requirements and structured handover of documentation.

Technical domains

Machine development

Custom production equipment, from kinematic concept to factory acceptance.

Product development

Systems engineering for demanding industrial environments, with a focus on manufacturability (DFM/DFA).

Electrical engineering

Electrical design, control panels and wiring, documented in EPLAN.

Electronics and embedded systems

PCB design, hardware architecture and system integration.

Automation and control

PLC programming, motion control and commissioning.

Industrialisation

Process engineering and test equipment for series production.

Software

ACE engineers work with the software your project requires, directly in your CAD/PLM environment. Some examples:

Electrical and control engineering of a conveyor system on a production line, including PLC programming and on-site commissioning.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the two models?

In team extension, ACE engineers work under your team's technical coordination. In turnkey execution, ACE takes technical responsibility for the agreed scope, under an ACE project manager.

Can we combine both models?

Yes. A programme can start with team extension and move to project execution once the scope is defined, or combine both in parallel.

Are the engineers ACE employees?

Yes. All engineers are ACE employees, supported by our in-house multidisciplinary teams. ACE does not work on a staff-leasing basis.

Do you work with our software and standards?

Yes. ACE proposes engineers experienced in the software the project requires and works according to your PDM/PLM systems and design standards.

Assess your engineering project

Send a short description of the project or your capacity needs. ACE will propose the appropriate collaboration model.
