Career Story Dorota Zygmunt

Dorota started her career outside high‑tech engineering, gaining experience in the plastic and rotational moulding industry, while also working in the furniture sector, where precision, attention to detail, and craftsmanship are essential.

Looking for a more technically challenging environment, where engineering complexity and continuous learning play a central role, she joined ACE Poland in January 2024 as a Mechanical Design Engineer.

Within a year, she progressed to Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, reflecting her rapid development in a high‑tech machine design environment.

GROWING INTO HIGH-TECH ENGINEERING

Moving into high‑tech machine design meant stepping into a completely new context. From the beginning, Dorota was involved in a wide range of projects, from pre‑installation activities in DUV machines, to tooling for EUV systems, and later machine conditioning. Working across these different stages allowed her to build both technical depth and a strong understanding of manufacturing constraints and system integration.

Her progress was rapidly recognised, leading to a promotion to Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in January 2025. Today, she contributes to ALSM projects, focusing on mechanical design for complex lithography systems and a continuous improvement of existing solutions.

WORKING IN AN INTERNATIONAL ENGINEERING ENVIRONMENT

Collaboration with engineers from different countries brings different perspectives on the same technical challenges, not only in terms of engineering solutions, but also in how problems are approached and resolved.

This has helped her develop a more structured and solution-oriented approach.

Knowledge sharing plays an important role in this. Whether through daily collaboration, project discussions, or workshops, there is always space to exchange ideas, ask questions, and continuously improve.

Craftsmanship & volunteering

In her free time, Dorota works on handicrafts such as embroidery and furniture restoration, activities that reflect the same precision and attention to detail required in her engineering work.

For over two years, she has also been part of the volunteer group “Przez nitkę do serca” (Through the thread to the heart), contributing to initiatives that support animal shelters, childcare institutions, and hospital wards.

Impact & sustainability

Together with other volunteers, she helps create handmade toys and accessories for people and organisations in need.

A key aspect of this initiative is sustainability, many of the materials used are production leftovers or donated by local communities, giving them a second life while contributing to meaningful projects. This combination of creativity, technical skill, and social impact reflects how Dorota approaches both her work and her personal life.
